What Data We Collect
This privacy policy applies to the Explore POV app and website, operated by Explore Immersive ("we", "us", "our"). We gather the following categories of information:
- Account Information: Email address (required for account creation), display name, and profile photo (if provided via Apple or Google Sign-In)
- Subscription Data: Purchase history and subscription status (processed via RevenueCat, the Apple App Store and Stripe). We also give RevenueCat your account email address and display name, so your subscription stays linked to your account
- Analytics Data: App usage patterns, feature interactions, and device identifiers (collected via Amplitude and Google Analytics 4)
- Approximate Location: Our analytics providers work out your country, region and city from your IP address. We do not collect your precise location
- Watch Stats and Leaderboards: The places you watch, your progress, level and achievements. If you turn on Show Me on Leaderboards (it is off unless you turn it on), other users can see your display name, level and scores
- Crash Data: Technical information including device model, OS version, and crash logs (collected via Firebase Crashlytics)
- Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens for delivering push notifications (via Firebase Cloud Messaging), if you opt in
- Email Address (Website): If you provide your email via our exit-intent or newsletter sign-up forms
How We Use Your Data
We use collected information to:
- Provide and improve our Services
- Process subscriptions and purchases
- Send you emails about your account, your subscription and new places. Every email has an unsubscribe link
- Analyze app and website usage to improve user experience
- Diagnose crashes and performance issues
- Deliver push notifications about new content (if opted in)
- Provide customer support
Authentication
We offer sign-in via Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In. When you authenticate through these providers, we receive your email address and, optionally, your name. We use Firebase Authentication to manage user sessions. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google account passwords.
Third-Party Services
Our app and website use the following external providers. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Website analytics, including page views, session duration, and traffic sources. GA4 uses cookies to distinguish users. Google Privacy Policy

- Loops: Email delivery. If your account has an email address, Loops receives it with your name, your subscription status and a summary of how you use the app (for example when you last signed in and how many places you have watched), so the emails we send are relevant to you. Loops Privacy Policy

- Stripe: Payment processing for web-based purchases. Stripe collects payment card details directly; we do not store your card information. Stripe Privacy Policy
- Backblaze: Video storage. Videos reach you through Cloudflare. Backblaze Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare: Website hosting, CDN, and security. Cloudflare may collect IP addresses and request metadata. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts: Web font delivery. Requests to Google Fonts servers may transmit your IP address. Google Fonts Privacy
Cookies
Our website uses the following cookies and similar technologies:
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): Used to distinguish users and sessions. These cookies expire after 2 years and 24 hours respectively.
- Firebase Auth: Session cookies to maintain your logged-in state.
- Cloudflare (__cf_bm): Bot management cookie, used for security.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of the website.
Data Practices
We commit to:
- Not selling your personal data
- Not sharing information with advertisers
- Not tracking you across other applications or websites
Your Rights
You may:
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your account in the app, or ask us to delete it
- Withdraw consent for push notifications via your device settings
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.
When you delete your account in the app, we delete your account and profile straight away. Some records can remain after that: with our email provider (Loops), with our subscription provider (RevenueCat), and in our analytics records. To have those removed too, email [email protected] and we will remove them within 30 days, except where we are required to keep them by law (for example purchase records).
Children's Privacy
Our accounts are for people aged 13 and over. Some countries set a higher minimum digital age of consent (up to 16), and where that applies it governs instead.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Where a school or district uses Explore POV in a classroom, the institution holds the account and is responsible for obtaining any consent required in its jurisdiction; we process student data on its instructions and do not use it for advertising.
