Cactus of the Canaries
Journey · Adventure · 3 minVR180 3DPremium
This walk winds through a cactus garden on Gran Canaria, in Spain's Canary Islands, where towering cacti and other succulents make a landscape of unusual shapes and colour. Cacti came to the Canaries from the Americas, and in the 19th century prickly pears were grown across the islands to raise cochineal insects for red dye.

What to expect
The camera travels through the scene for the full 3 min, so the view opens and changes around you rather than waiting for you to look. Give yourself a moment to settle before you start turning your head.
It is filmed in stereoscopic VR180, which means depth is real: near things sit close, far things stay far, and the desert reads at proper scale instead of flattening onto a screen. Look up, look to the edges of the frame, and take your time. There is nothing to steer and nothing to learn.
We tag this one adventurous, and it sits in Canary Islands alongside the rest of what we have filmed there. It is included with a subscription.
